We recently ordered a floating pond fountain for the lake as part of our ongoing effort to improve water movement and help reduce algae blooms.

Fountains are not a cure-all, but adding circulation and oxygen can help keep water from sitting stagnant, which is one of the conditions that can contribute to algae problems. We are going to try this setup and see how much it helps.

The fountain we ordered is the RELIY Pond Fountain Aerator, a 1 HP floating fountain with a 100-foot power cord and guide ropes. We plan to anchor it with a concrete block so it stays in place.

For any homeowners on the lake who may want to try a similar setup near their property, here is the link to the fountain we purchased.

Please make sure any installation is done safely, especially with electricity near water, and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
