There is an upcoming meeting for Lake Zurich to acquire the Midlothian Manor and redevelop it into low income apartments. Midlothian Manor is about 1 block away from Echo Lake. There is a meeting Monday, April 18th at 7pm at the Lake Zurich Village Hall. Please attend this meeting if you are interested in this development. You may remember that this is the property that Lake County wanted to develop into a homeless shelter for mentally ill homeless individuals several years ago. That plan was put on hold with help from the community.
Below is the info from the Village of Lake Zurich facebook post.
"On the agenda for the Village Board of Trustees meeting on Monday, April 18th at 7 pm among other items are:Courtesy review for consideration of annexation and redevelopment of the Midlothian Manor property at 22843 North Lakewood Lane.Midlothian Manor is owned by the Lake County Housing Authority (LCHA), is located in unincorporated Lake County and is not within the municipal boundaries of Lake Zurich. The LCHA is proposing the sale of the property to the Housing Opportunity Development Corporation (HODC) for the purpose of developing a new two-story residential apartment building for low- and moderate-income households.Since the site is located in unincorporated Lake County, without a zoning designation from the Village, HODC is requesting annexation in order to obtain a R-6 zoning that would allow multi-family residential housing. The development would have access to Lake Zurich municipal water and sanitary sewer service. The complete agenda is available online at https://play.champds.com/lakezurichil/event/53. The meeting will be broadcast live on cable TV, live streamed on the Village website and on Facebook live"
